But recognizing the need and knowing where to invest are two different things. The Finance Technology Bullseye 2026 analyzes 63 technologies across three dimensions — current adoption, perceived value, and future investment intent — providing an operational map for budget allocation decisions.

GenAI: top investment priority, adoption still limited

GenAI is the technology with the highest future investment intent among all 63 analyzed. Adoption has doubled in the past year, with a 12% increase, but most organizations are still in the pilot or early deployment phase. It is unclear whether organizations are broadly moving from pilots to fully scaled use cases. Perceived value is nonetheless growing by 5% compared to the previous year, driven primarily by the ability to produce narrative analysis and manage unstructured data.

AI agents: a bet on the future

AI agents are an entirely new entry in the quadrant and debut directly in second place for future investment intent, despite still being in the exploratory adoption phase. Perceived value is moderate, indicating that finance leaders are making a bet on future potential rather than on already proven results. Their success will depend on the availability of clear guardrails to prevent uncontrolled automation and on the ability to integrate with core systems like cloud ERP.

Cloud ERP: the highest-valued technology overall

Cloud ERP remains the technology with the highest perceived value across the entire Bullseye. Adoption has grown by 7% compared to the previous year, driven by the need for stability, compliance, and scalability in complex global business models. An increasing number of organizations consider it not just an operational foundation but a catalyst for innovation, thanks to embedded AI that enables new levels of financial insight.

Blockchain: the biggest jump in investment intent

Blockchain recorded the largest positive increase in the future investment ranking across the entire Bullseye, with a leap of 30 positions. Perceived value increased by 11% compared to 2025. Interest is driven by the ability to strengthen audit trails, improve compliance, and support transparent cross-border transactions, especially in a context of increasing regulatory clarity.

The Finance Technology Bullseye 2026 analyzes 63 technologies across adoption, value, and future investment.
