What is Askme?
Askme is Lascaux’s AI-native solution for business process automation. It is not a single tool but an ecosystem of AI agents that work together to run the most complex processes: customer service, document management, onboarding, ticketing, approvals, compliance and KYC. It is developed by Lascaux S.r.l. (Lascaux Group), an Italian software house with 20+ years of experience and more than 100 enterprise customers, based in Arezzo and Florence.
What does "agentic" process automation mean and how does it work?
Agentic automation means using several specialised AI agents that work together, like a team, instead of one rigid automation. In Askme, an Agent Manager coordinates the agents, while a cognitive workflow engine reasons about context, adapts to change and learns from feedback, rather than following static rules alone. The agents answer requests, route work, update data and hand tasks to one another, operating around the clock.
How is it different from a chatbot or a single AI tool?
A chatbot answers questions; Askme runs entire processes end to end. Instead of adding isolated tools that do not talk to each other, it unifies AI agents, data and workflows in a single ecosystem that integrates with the systems already in use across the business. The result is less manual work, fewer errors and processes that complete faster, while people stay in charge of the decisions that matter.
Which modules make up Askme and what do they do?
Askme is organised into integrated modules, all powered natively by Askme AI, the solution’s AI engine: – Askme Desk: service management, ticketing and workflow. It centralises requests from every channel (e-mail, web, chat, phone), routes them automatically, monitors SLAs and automates flows with a visual editor. – Askme Chat: AI-native customer messaging. Conversational chatbots, including voice, available around the clock on web, WhatsApp, Telegram and other channels, with answers grounded in internal sources and automatic handoff to the right team. – Askme Sign: advanced electronic signature. It handles contracts and documents with simple, advanced and qualified signatures (SES, AES, QES) carrying legal validity, approval workflows, document templates and mass signing.
Can I adopt a single module, or do I need all of them?
You can start with a single module and expand over time. Each module works on its own and integrates natively with Askme AI and the other modules: Chat and Desk together, for example, cover the full journey from request to resolution. The solution is fully configurable and adapts to each organisation’s specific processes.
Which AI models does Askme use?
Askme is LLM-agnostic, so there is no technology lock-in. The architecture natively supports multiple providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral and Llama), as well as open-source or custom models, and lets you pick the best model for each task to optimise cost and performance. The AI engine is proprietary technology, developed in part through research with the University of Florence.
Does Askme integrate with the systems we already use?
Yes. Askme provides ready-to-use connectors for widely adopted tools, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Outlook, Slack, Salesforce, SAP, Jira, WhatsApp, Telegram, Zapier, WordPress, PostgreSQL and Twilio. For specific needs, it offers open APIs that enable custom integrations with CRM, ERP and other enterprise systems.
How are security and data protection ensured?
Security is enterprise-grade: data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), access is controlled with SSO, MFA and RBAC, logs are immutable and activity is monitored continuously with anomaly detection. The solution is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO/IEC 27001, is GDPR-compliant and SOC 2 Type II, with automatic backups and periodic security tests run by certified external teams. Data can reside in data centres in Italy.
Is Askme compliant with GDPR and electronic-signature regulations?

Yes. Data processing is GDPR-compliant, and the whole solution is designed to European security standards. For signing, Askme Sign supports simple, advanced, and qualified electronic signatures (SES, AES, QES) in line with the European eIDAS regulation, ensuring full legal validity, audit trails, and compliant approval workflows.

Can Askme be adopted by public-sector organisations?
Yes. Askme is qualified on the ACN marketplace (Italy’s National Cybersecurity Agency), so public-sector organisations can adopt it with the security and reliability guarantees of the national cloud. The Chat Sign and Desk modules have obtained ACN certifications (QC1 and QC2 for Chat, QC1 for Sign and Desk), and data can be kept in data centres in Italy.
Does the AI act on its own, or does the team stay in control?
The level of automation is chosen by the organisation. Askme supports several modes, from fully human-managed, to AI-assisted conversations, to fully automated handling, with seamless handoff to a human operator when needed. This way the team sets the direction and keeps control of the decisions that matter, while the agents handle the repetitive work.
